Learn the basics of painting by exploring acrylic paints on art-quality papers in this systematic and “classical” style workshop series. Emphasis is on learning observational skills through basic drawing, color work, design thinking, and critical analysis.
Integrate your art and design projects through a series of compositing workshops that combine Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects. Various source materials are considered, a method of self-critique is developed, and consideration is given for outputs on paper, screen and web.
Develop an artist portfolio for print and screen and learn professional presentation skills, including how to deliver a quick marketing pitch. Participate in critiques of written, verbal, and visual media. Web layout ideas and mockups may be created but source code writing is not covered.
Atelier services include photographing and scanning artwork for master files; digital retouching, color work, and sharpening; and preparation of images for display via large-format digital printers, web page outputs, and high-end, large-screen digital projections.
Commissions include paintings, graphic design and publishing, large-format digital printmaking, and motion graphic composites. A phone conversation, initial meeting, and down payment are required.
